Can someone tell me where a large hardware store might be? Something like Home Depot in the states?

It's called "Easy".
Corner of Bullrich and Cervino in Palermo.
Same thing as Home Depot.
Also connected to a nice big supermarket called "Jumbo" and a few other shops.
