I'm surprised there is not already a thread for this restaurant. Its located in Puerto Madero on the south end very close to La Bistecca. This is possibly one of the best restaurants in BA. It is a well-known place but much cheaper than Cabana Las Lilas. The decor is sort of gaucho (Argentine rancher) Overall, I prefer it to CLL since I think they overdo the service there. I prefer to dine in peace without servers tending to my every sip of water/wine. But there are a few small touches that CLL has which may make it slightly better IMO such as the fresh / abundant bread tray they bring around and the desert / coffee tray that they bring to your table.

The steaks are consistently excellent at Estilo Campo. One of my favorite dishes there is carre agridulce (sweet and sour pork tenderloin) The provoleta estilo campo is a great starter. Good bread. EC has an extensive wine list – this is not my area of expertise so I just order Chateau Veaux (spelling?). The service is excellent but not overdone like at CLL. This is a great place to bring foreign visitors. Price at last visit p60 with wine, salad & appetizer. And you can almost touch the casino from there. There is often good chica scenery outside on the river(port)walk as the UCA (Argentine Catholic University) is quite near.

Mongers-

I had the pleasure of dining at this fine establishment with my girlfriend this past Tuesday night. As usual, the food was excellent and an excellent value when compared with other top shelf parrillas located in the Puerto Madero strip. I had four empanadas (2 carne, 2 salmon) @$5AR each, followed by a bife de lomo @ $30 AR. I do remember that the lomo used to go for $27 AR less than two months ago and the empanadas were slightly less expensive, so inflation is definetly at work here. On previous trips to Estilo Campo I have had the provoletta and I recall it being quite excellent.

All in all, $103 AR plus tip (no wine or dessert) and in my opinion perhaps the best place for steak in Capital in terms of a quality / price ratio.

Absolutely concur on this one. Have eaten at Estilo Campo perhaps 20 times and found it to be excellent for food, service, and value.

I think it is a much better value than C. Las Lilas.

If you go to Estilo Campo in Puerto Madero (which is a nice, elegant parrilla that I wholeheartedly recommend) ask for Mario to be your waiter. No English, but impeccable, friendly service and good recommendations. Nice place this, rather like Cabana las Lilas but at about half the price.

Estilo Campo.

One of the better steak houses in town, (a little on the noisey side) but unfortunely I've been 86 and can't go back.

Mongers-

Made a stop in here last night with a true trophey quality non-pro I met at the office last week. This place is still quite popular (understandably) and there was still a wait for a table at midnight when we arrived. The menu has been expanded and now there are some new choices, including the "lomo entero" which I ordered for my date and I. At $144 AR, it says it can feed four people, as it is an entire beef tenderloin. My date ate about a quarter and I ate the rest. The meat was excellent as usual and the total bill of $194 AR (mas propina) including drinks, appetizers, and said main course was reasonable. I highly recommend this place.

I've eaten at Estilo Campo several times now, largely at the suggestion of Rock Harders, and I would agree with the reports herein.

Delux location; elegant design and service; and the cheapest prices for this level of quality. The meat is on par with the best in town. The have asado crillollo. Beef, pig, goat and lamb slowly roasted for hours over wood until it is soft as butter. I want to thank Rock for introducing me to this wonderful place in the south end of Puerto Madero.

I had the pleasure of acompaning Rock Harders, Jackson & Miami Bob on this outing one night for dinner.

Its excellent for both service & food, pretty much as good as it gets in Argentina. Not cheap, but real value for what your paying for. Cabana Las Lilas is very nice and probably Argentina's most famious Steak House, but for me its too touristy. Its not un-common to see tourist buss's unloading 50 or more people for dinner.

One potential draw back is its about a $35 peso's round trip cab fare from Recoleta, plus you've got to figure about a $100 peso's per person for dinner.

But for those of us that enjoy "Fine Dinning" its a don't miss place is Buenos Aires.
