Mongers,
Beginning Saturday, March 3, El Alamo will be hosting a weekly Texas Hold 'Em Tournament in the upstairs bar area of the establishment. The upstairs bar area is closed to the public Saturday nights, and will be open exclusively to those participating in the poker event and any guests the participants may bring along. El Alamo will provide the chips and playing cards and food and drink are obviously available, as always, 24 hours. There is a $10 AR per person fee to participate, El Alamo will NOT provide dealers and will therefore NOT take a cut of any pots. Stakes, numbers of allowed buy-ins, etc are up for discussion at this point and is more or less up to the participants. We are intending for this to be an almost all-foreigner (primarily American) event, although Argentine friends of reputable Americans / other foreigners will be allowed. Any questions or comments should be posted on this thread.

Pussy and poker in BA. Mr Vegas in on the way. I'll be there in April. Puma
What time on March 3?
And we should be allow to bet chica. I call your (chica) and raise you (chica) payment made at end of night. You could have 5-10 chica all line up for you after the game!
Or even better: Topless Chica Dealers!
Chica side bets, topless chica dealers. This just keeps getting better all the time. I can't wait.

Mongers-
The first weekly El Alamo Texas Hold 'Em Tournament will begin at 10pm this Saturday, March 3. We have decided that the buy in for the first tournament will be $100 AR, with 80% of the pot going to the Tournament champion, with the Tournament runner-up getting the other 20%. So if there are 15 participants, the winner would get $1200 AR and the runner up $300 AR. I think it goes without saying that this is a No Limit type tournament ala "World Series of Poker". Depending on the numbers of participants we will start with several tables and work down to one table as more and more players are eliminated.
As previously stated in an earlier post, the tournament will be held upstairs at El Alamo, which will be closed to all but those participating and their immediate guests. What this amounts to is that the street-level entrance to the upstairs area will be locked down and the only access will be strictly controlled via the elevator, so participants need to enter through the normal downstairs entrance and advise an El Alamo employee that they need to be escorted upstairs.

Lots of fish, good company, cute mosa (not topless) Peter was entertaining to watch figure out the game. All around highly recomended.
We played the tourney (I still think that 3 spots should be paid) then played a ring game until 4.
Did I say that part about the fish out loud?
I hope that Peter decides to try this Texas Hold Poker Night, maybe once a month! It sounds like fun!

Just swim on down and flop on the table bubba.
I'm not sure why Daddy Rulz, but I have this funny feeling I would be swimming with the SHARKS!

I heard rumors that the game might be off due to fear from staff. I have a few producers lined up and I'm wondering if the game is on.

Mongers-
There most definetly is a game this Saturday, March 10, beginning at roughly 10:30 PM. The El Alamo Texas Hold 'Em Tournament is a weekly event, and will be held every Saturday night in the upstairs facility beginning at the specified hour until further notice. The same $100 AR buy in will apply, with the same $10 AR house charge also applying.

Thanks for the speedy responce.
Hello All,
I am a Canadian who is new to Buenos Aires (I just arrived last week) and will be here for the next little while on business. I participate in a monthly poker game back home and would appreciate being able to participate in your poker game tonight. Let me know and I will come for the game tonight.
PS my regular poker partners were not happy to hear I was leaving - so no need to fear my skill or lack thereof!

Mongers-
The El Alamo Texas Hold 'em Poker Tournament will now be held on SUNDAYS from here on out, to begin this Sunday, March 18. This is due to the overflow crowds now attending El Alamo Saturday nights, as we have determined we need to open the upstairs area to the public. Sorry for any inconvenience to those planning to participate.

What about getting together for supper at El Cuartito at Talcahuano 937 (4816-1758) Near Marcelo de Alvear around 2100. Good pizza and it's just a short walk to El Alamo after.

You mean you play upstairs in the non-smoking room?
I told Peter he should change the name to Smoky Joe's Cafe.
At least open the fucking window.
Sorry I am so bitter, but it kills me as it did my parents.
WorldTrveler69,
In Peter's defense, he is always reluctant to open any windows or prop open any doors at El Alamo because of the neighbor's constant complaints about the noise. That's why you'll see him always closing any open windows and why he had door closers installed on all the entrances.
Thanks,
Jackson

Thanks,
JacksonI can't see that the noise generated by 8-12 guys playing poker would cause any problems for Peter's neighbor's, unless by some miracle that bum Dady Rulz managed to win. No impossible.

Places I have been too that had smoking way back when, had ventilation fans or something that drew the smoke out. You could not even tell someone was smoking.

In town, would like to play Poker if game is on tonight (Sunday) Anyone got any nearby dinner recomendations or would like to eat first? More importantly, is the tourney on?

Seaman and I are meeting at Exedra at 9:00 to find a place to eat. Your welcome to join us, He is a 9 foot tall Viking, hard to miss.
I got your offer late, after both dinner and the Poker game at Alamo. Up for dinner tonight though.
Played poker there last night, very nice bunch of guys. Not sure if any board members were actually there, if they were, they didn't mention it. As a whole, they seemed to be a younger crowd, well balanced, witty, in shape, normal social life. Etc. Likely I was the only mongerer there.
("Hey, I resemble that remark"!
If you remember, I got shown the "Worlds Fair" a few times while having way the best of it on the flop. When I get home I will send you guys some plastic "Kem" cards.
Thanks again

I'll try to play worse next time. I took the graveyard flight to Panama out this morning, loved BA, can't wait to return. By the way, in the end, I busted out as well.
Is this still on? I went in there today and was told that they don't do it anymore.
If it's stopped does anyone know of any other games?

I also dropped by this evening and a gentleman at the bar told me he knew nothing about any game that evening. If it is still going on I would like to attend next Sunday if not a post would be appreciated. Also did not see any half naked nymphs running through the place either.
Forced me to spend my money on dirty little chicas, what a shame when I could have lost it to fellow mongers. Not!

Where did the slingbox and free internet go?Redondo,
Why do you continiously find ways to publically critize El Alamo?
You had to have been in El Alamo in order to notice that the computers had been moved, so why didn't you just pose this question to one of the staffers at that time?
Tell us, what is your real agenda?
Thanks,
Jackson

2. You had to have been in El Alamo in order to notice that the computers had been moved, so why didn't you just pose this question to one of the staffers at that time?

Its because he's a "CockSucker" Jackson.
The little "MotherFucker" has an insecurity problem, so to compensate for that he has to post Shit on the board, the "Spamming MotherFucker"

ExonI don't recall one "productive" post from this termite. Why should he care what The Alamo does or does not do? He sounds like a small minded, envious little shitbird who can't mind his own business.
Hi,
Are there poker games going on currently at the Alamo? Anything on for tomorrow?

Coming down to BA with 4 other guys, all of whom know how to play Texas Hold Em. We'd be interested in joining a game or maybe even hosting if a game at one of our apartments if we can find some interested folks.
Greetings everyone,
In behalf of the Alamo management, I regret to inform you that they have suspended the Sunday Night Poker Games because it was a technical violation of local statutes prohibiting the playing of card games in a drinking establishment, and the El Alamo managers do not wish to incur any further difficulties from the "city inspectors".
Thanks,
Jackson
