I did something touristy this weekend and visited the resting place of the famous Carlos Gardel. For those of you who don't know it yet, he is buried at the Chacarita cemetery. To get to the cemetery you can take the be line and get off at the Federico Lacroze station. Unlike the Recoleta where Evita is buried a map will direct you to her tomb. However, this is not the case here. I don't know if I missed it but I did not see any map in Chacarita which shows you where Gardel is. I guess, its because the cemetery is too big and that so many famous people are buried there that putting up a specialized map may be too big a task.
To get to Sr. Gardel, make a left at the first big street and after about 6 or 7 blocks turn right. From there you won't miss it. Maybe I was lucky because there were a group of people singing some songs of Sr. Gardel that time which made it easier for me to hone in on the maestro's location.
