Best way to travel Salta to BA

In Argentina mid October for 3 weeks. Journeying BsAs to Mendoza then to Salta by bus. Airfare Salta to BsAs on internet over $200. Is it cheaper if booked in Argentina? How much is bus fare and how long does it take?

Has anyone done that trip lately? Thanks

Bus BA to Salta around 20 hours. Recommend bus BA-Mendoza-Salta and then fly back. $200 airfare seems fair to me. Bus is probably $110 US about now. But boring if you've already taken the bus on the way up.
