Saint,
Yeah I made it through and it appears you did also, which is good. As you know divorce is extremely difficult, especially if it is not amiable, which few are.
However, regarding your comment about mongering and the judge's decision. I believe my attorney told me that if the judge's final decision is dramatically different from their initial 'recommendation' and 'appeared' to consider things outside the 9 factors, the decision could be appealed.
However, think about the cost of that... My divorce was pretty cheap because it was not very complicated and still cost me about $25,000 not counting the settlement which was still overly generous to my wife (based on my attorney's feeling). Thank god the child involved was not mine!!
It's over and no hard feelings on my part (she still holds hard feelings though). Oh, well!!!

I disagree with Dickhead completely and I can understand your need for wanting some privacy. Not all of us are die hard hobbyist who don't care what those around us think. ... Nothing screams "ugly tourist" worst then looking at this stuff in front of women and children and other tourists that are just checking their email.
Exactly. If I can go a bit out of my way to avoid offending someone, why not?
I do agree somewhat that internet girls probably aren't the best girls to go for but there are some great girls out there. Some of my best experiences in BA were with internet girls. It just got to the point where I like to see them face to face first.
Yes, but some of us old farts just can't stay up late enough to participate in the club action. That leaves Orleans and Excedra and the Internet girls. If I hang around Orleans and Excedra I might get caught by my favorita and ruin a good thing. That leaves the Internet girls. I've had one internet girl experience in BA and it was better than average. Also, while I prefer some face to face conversation before making a decision, I have been fooled. Some of these girls are good actresses out of bed as well as in bed.
You might want to consider staying in an apartment that has internet access if you're really sensitive to wanting to view these kind of sites. More and more apartments are going to high-speed internet access.
Well ... for a week it does not seem worth it. And, unless I lugged my laptop, which I really don't want to do, I'd still need to go to an Internet cafe or something similar. Also, if my hotel makes the girl show some id, which I hope they will, I'll be more comfortable having her in my room. None-the-less, if I can get back there to two weeks or more, I very well might consider the apartment route.
Thanks Saint, and to the two members who PMed me as well.
Bob
My divorce cost me $37.50 which was half the filing fee.

Can you bring your gsm phone and buy a prepaid sim card and use it while over there? If so, do you need to unlock the phone and how are the rates?
I apologize for being off topic (sort of) but I need a recomendation for a good hotel in Asuncion.
I need a "safe house' in case my girlfriend goes berserk (how could that possibly happen?)
:)
The best balance between nice, cheap, clean and safe.....

Hefe:
I asked this question a number of times several months back. It used to be that there weren't any pre-paid SIM cards in B.A. In my last trip in November, I investigated this further and was told that "CTI" company's main store at Florida and Paraguay sells pre-paid SIM cards. Unfortunately (for CTI) or fortunately (for me and Baney) I was kidnapped by Baney early in the trip and spent just about all of my trip in bed, so I didn't get to investigate :D. So, look into it please using the lead above and let us know, unless of course you yourself end up being kidnapped by a nymphomaniac once you hit the ground.
You'll need to call your carrier to get the unlock instructions for your phone before you leave.
This question has been asked and answered several times. I think I have answered it at least 3 times. Go back and do some research. Several companies all sell pre-paid rechargeable SIM cards. Telefonica (Unifone) is just one of them at Corrientes 645. They are open from 9 AM to 4 PM for SIM cards. The cost is 20 pesos and it includes 50 pesos of airtime.
If your phone is locked, there is a store just a few yards away on the same block that can unlock your phone.
Can you bring your gsm phone and buy a prepaid sim card and use it while over there? If so, do you need to unlock the phone and how are the rates?
Hefe,
CTI Movil on the corner of Florida and Paraguay have pre-paid sim cards, as does Personal just off of Florida on Corrientes.
I brought my unlocked phone down, and the phone card credits are good for 3 months, but are used up fast.
Moondog
... but you can buy additional airtime for CTI in every PharmaCity Pharmacy, or directly in the main office in Florida and Paraquay, 2nd floor. For 20 pesos you get 28 worth of airtime, and 50 pesos buy 80. That, and toothpaste, btw., are the only things PharmaCity is good for.
Buy a lot, when calling overseas your credit melts like snow in summer. And even local calls are NOT cheap.

WSG CHARITIES SANTA CLAUSE TOUR
Greetings everyone,
Thanks to the generosity of the guests at the recent WSG Thangkgiving Dinner, we raised more than $2,500AR specifically earmarked for the WSG Charities Annual Christmas Toy Drive. Much thanks to all the contributors who made this a reality.
Yesterday, Silvina and I visited the toy wholesalers in Once to buy the toys for each of the comedores. Now, $2,500ar goes a long way in BA, but let me tell you, after Silvina finished negoiating with the wholesalers (actually, "beating them up" is a more accurate description of the conversations), we left with a truck filled with everything from small toys for infants, to dolls and toy trucks for kids, to Barbie dolls and soccer balls for the older children. Altogether we purchased individual toys for more than 350 children, along with other toys and games specifically earmarked for each of the comedore.
Therefor, I am pleased to announce that I have scheduled a visit to the WSG Charity's four La Matanza comedores for Monday, December 20th, leaving my building in Recoleta at 11:00 am.
All interested persons are invited to accompany myself and others as we visit the 4 comedores.
The plan is as follows:
I've arranged for a van to take us on the tour. First, we will stop by one of the toy stores in Once to make a few last minute purchases, then we will commence to the western surburb of Mantanza where we plan to spend perhaps a hour at each location where we will be greated by the adults who run the comedores and as we distribute the toys to the children. Of course, we're also going to be dispensing the usual $250ar monthly grant to each of our beneficaries.
This should be "feel good" day for anyone who participates. Be sure to bring your cameras. However, just to give you a little incentive, please read the email I recieved from Maria M. regarding her conversation with one of the comedores after our visit last Christmas:
Dear Jackson,
Today I received a call from Silvia from "Una Mano Solidaria" who was absolutely overwhelmed by the "miracle" that took place last week. She told me that with the money donated they had built the floor and purchased flour and sugar. This was great since, with each rain, the comedor got flooded due to the lack of flooring.
The kids were crazy about the toys, for all of them it was the very first time they received a toy. Some of the 11 year old boys had never owned a football, and you know what soccer means in this country. They decided that toys basically will remain at the comedor and the kids will take turns at borrowing the toys and returning them to the comedor the next day - very much like a library.
The teachers told Silvia that the kids didn't stop talking about the gentlemen that had visited them and the "funny" way in which they talked.
All the mothers talk of little else but you. Silvia's mother still cries every day when she thinks of all of you and your visit.
I just thought you would like to know what a difference you made to the lives of all these people and how much so little can have an impact on their lives.
Please post this message on the board and let them know that "Una Mano Solidaria" is very, very thankful for your contribution.
MariaI'm planning to rent a 12 passenger van, so there should be plenty of room for anyone who wishes to participate. We will leave Recoleta at 11am and should return at approximately 6:00 pm.
Please send me an email at Jackson@ArgentinaPrivate.com or call me at 15-4048-2827 and I'll be pleased to give you the directions to my building and other details.
Thanks,
Jackson
Gentlemen, I'm really surprised.
Last week I posted a notice that I was making a trip on Monday to deliver toys to more than 350 children in 4 comedores. As of today, not one single guy visiting or otherwise living in BA has RSVP'd.
Guys, this is so easy:
1. The trip is free.
2. The 12 passenger van is air-conditioned and very comfortable.
3. We leave at 11am from my apartment in Recoleta.
4. We will return at approximately 6pm.
5. The van will return you directly to your hotel or apartment.
6. You'll have plenty of time to pursue your usual nighttime activities.
7. We will be visiting 4 comedores for less than an hour each.
8. We will be giving out toys to more than 350 children.
9. Everyone can participate.
10. There'll be dozens of photo opportunities.
11. It's a great "feel good" day.
Silvina and I can make the trip alone, but it's a lot more fun with a group, so if you'd like to join us, please send me an email Jackson@ArgentinaPrivate.com or call me at 15-4048-2827.
Thanks,

The girls look hot and the weekly rates are amazing. Anybody know if these girls are for real and whether or not this site is a rip off?
Hellman,
This is the most real Escorts page in Argentina, 100% WYSWIG. Try this address:
http://www.escortsbaires.com.ar/,
it is the same site, but the spanish version, with 100 girls instead of 50.
Forget about the prices quoted. These are U$S, and what the girls dream about. It is very subject to negotiation, and you should be able to get most of them for A$R 150 .. 200 for short time (1 ..1.5 hours). Depends on your language skills. The discussion in most cases has to be in spanish. And the phrase "basic english" means, she is able to say "100 dollars".
hope that helps, and have fun in BA.
And don't only stick to internet chicas, there is much more!
Member 2113,
this has been discussed before. As a guideline, you might expect per day, first column keeping it cheap, second with some more luxury (Prices in U$S):
accomodation 50,- 150,-
food 15,- 40,-
drinks 10,- 50,-
chicas 40,- 250,-
transportation 2,- 15,-
other expenses 5,- ?
the 15,- for food buys you some lunch (pasta, etc.) and a decent steak dinner. The low side on drinks means sticking mostly to beer and not spending anything in the clubs. The high side adds a premium bottle of wine and 2 or 3 drinks in the more expensive clubs. on chicas, the low side is one taken out of a cheap boliche, the high side is close to impossible to spend (for example, an internet girl in the afternoon, plus take out from Madaho's at night, including chica's drinks). Of course, there are people who live and have fun on much tighter budgets. And, of course, it is always possible to just throw away your money.
For accomodation, contact Mayra! She will get you the best rates for a hotel or has some decent and affordable apartments, and with about U$S 100 - 150 per day on food and fun you can get around well.

As a rule of thumb, the Malbecs seem to be the safest choice.

I've used it to unlock 2 phones and it's very easy. You just enter the info. about your phone, and for $4.95 the website gives you the code to unlock your Nokia.

I was listening to BBC News probably just a few hours after the event occurred. They said the name of the club that caught on fire, but I was half asleep when I heard about it. That was such a tragedy and I hope that no one had any friends that were injured in the club.
Not to take away from this catastrophe, but on Newsworld International (channel 163 on my TV), they keep airing a segment on Argentina's economy. It's called "Special Assignment - Argentina". I watched it earlier this morning and it was pretty interesting. If anyone else is interested, it is coming on again today at 12:30pm central time.
see this link:
http://edition.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/americas/12/31/argentina.fire/
or, quoted from Reuter's:
BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (Reuters) - A blaze in a Buenos Aires nightclub packed with young revelers celebrating the New Year holidays killed at least 169 people and injured 375, as a stampeding crowd was trapped by locked exit doors, officials said on Friday.
The blaze is thought to have been caused by a flare fired into the club's ceiling during a rock concert, sending burning debris onto the crowd of up to 4,000 people who desperately fought to flee the flames and suffocating smoke.
"The fire spread in a minute and we were a mountain of people trying to escape," said survivor Ariel Monges, 25, who lost a friend and a cousin in the fire and was searching for another friend at a city hospital.
The blaze, which officials called one of Argentina's worst disasters, may have claimed more victims because four of the club's six doors were tied shut with wire, according to Interior Minister Anibal Fernandez.
"It appears they were condemned to walk into a trap," Fernandez said.
Mayor Anibal Ibarra said the emergency exit appeared to be shut "so that people wouldn't enter without paying" and firefighters had to break it open.
Most of the victims are believed to have died from smoke inhalation.
The rock band playing at the Republica Cromagnon club in the gritty, run-down neighborhood of Once warned the crowd not to shoot flares due to the fire hazard, the mayor said. But after the first song, an hour before midnight on Thursday, a group fired one into the highly flammable foam ceiling.
Flares and a whole array of fireworks are sold on streets all over Latin America for the New Year holiday festivities with little regulation.
Lists at hospitals showed that most of the victims were in their teens and 20s, but there were also children as young as 6 among the dead and injured.

I finally used the last of the 10 50mg sildenafil I bought in May. It's really hot today so I figured I would go to the pharmacy on Callao where I bought Cialis for another monger, instead of going all the way to Farmacia Azul on Córdoba near Cafe Orleans. I figured I might pay a bit more but it would be worth it.
No. Denied. No Sildenafil without a prescription, only Cialis. WTF sense does that make? So off to Farmacia Azul and guess what? 48 pesos for 10 50mg instead of I believe 59 I paid last time. It's a different brand and the tablets aren't scored but I just cut one in half and it cut with no chipping or flaking.
So that is good.
Great! I didn't even have time to field the question and DH answers. Just looking into the little bottle and counting the cuts versus days ahead on the calendar of the little stash I brought from estadosunidense and getting nervous. Cafe Orleans is just a few blocks away. Is there nothing in Buenos Aires that isn't better value, that's a $1.60 each 50 and 25 mg fills my veins very well.
Now if the heat would drop long enough for me to walk to 1707 Santa Fe without breaking a sweat and I'd figure out where to find/buy a Sony flat screen monitor 17", "how bad it can be?"

It's like everything else in life; LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. I have found that in the larger, nicer, chain type pharmacies they want a perscription for everything. Just look for the small, run down, family operated, neighborhood stores off the main streets. They are so happy to have your business they will sell you absolutley anything without a prescription. In fact, go in there with an ailment and they will be happy to prescribe the solution.
Fortunately, I can still get it up once a day but if I maintain that frequency, I can only keep it up for 15 minutes. This does not make economic sense if I'm paying for an hour of service. To keep it up an hour, I need 2 days to recharge my batteries. With so much inexpensive beautiful pussy here, that is not an option either.
My trip here last year was my first experience with viagra. I had such a hot one I wanted seconds but new that was not in the cards. When I came out the door I saw a small pharmacy across the street. I asked for viagra. He didn't understand. I pointed at the house across the street and said chicas, then pointed at my dick, then made a fist and stuck out my forearm. He smiled, said si, went in the back, and came out with an assortment of generics. I chose a 50 mg round blue pill. Two in a pack for 6 pesos.
I stopped in the cafe next door and ordered a mineral water, popped one, read the destructions, and before I finished the water, felt like my head was going to blow off (both little and big heads). I had my hour and was afraid I was going to have a heart attack. I also got leg cramps. I was so embarrassed I paid for another hour because I was still hard as a rock.
My second attempt I halved the pill with dimished, but still too severe results.
The third time I quartered it with perfect results. No pounding heart beat, no cramps, got hard naturally with forplay but stayed hard untill I came and went naturally limp. Hard on demand for about 4 hours. I bot a 20 pack for 60 pesos at the same pharmacy when I arrived here in October.

I have a 2 week trip planned for Jan 23 to Feb 7. Last time I was there in Oct casual dress was jean at day and slacks at night.
Being hot during the day to people walk around in shorts and tank tops or is that too casual as I know BA is a little more upscale? I figure at night the clubs like Hook, Cattos, etch have dress codes, right?
Any info would help.

You might give Cialis® (tadalafil) a shot (no pun intended). It's much gentler on the blood pressure and keeps on workin...
BTW, I found a small very cooperative neighborhood pharmacy in Palermo on Uriarte. I think the cross street was Paraguay.

"During my next trip to BA, I want to buy about 30 bottles of Argentinian wine to bring back for personal consumption.
My home and final destination is Europe but I need to make a 36 hour stop-over in the US on the return leg on my trip.
I will therefore show up at a US Airport Customs, loaded with my bottles."
1) Will US customs stop me? What would they charge/fine me?
2) Can I leave it in their custody (ie not bring it into US territory) until I am back on board destined for Europe a day later ?
Any help or advice is very welcome.

This time of year it is very hot and often very humid. Was there between Xmas and New Years and jeans and short sleeve shirts with collars are ok.
T-shirts are not as acceptable in the clubs. In the apartments, it is more casual.

I happened to cross over into Mexico yesterday.
Since I was out of vitamins for my Dick I thought I'd pick up a few, not that I'd need them here in Sex Prison. The women here are either to Ugly or to Expensive to Fuck. But you never know, I guess thats why its called getting Lucky i guess, so I thought I'd pick up a few.
Well anyway I started shopping. First stop Vitamin "V" was $16 dollars a pill for 100mg, "Fuck You". I wasn't going to pay that, besides 100mg would made me hard for a week, not an option.
Next I shopped a couple more stores asking for both Viagra and generic cock enhancers.
What I ended up with was Generic Sidenafil, my old Buenos Aires standby. Ten 100gm pills, which must be split in half, $60 US dollars or $6 bucks a pill.
Granted after being split in half its only $3 dollars per pill for my required 50 mg dose, but thats still outrageous. In Buenos Aires I pay 48 pesos for 10 50mg pills. Doing the math it comes out to $1.60 per pill, almost double, what a rip off.
You guy's don't realize how good you have it down their.

Hey guys,
I'm from NYC, posted some on the boards there and I'm planning a trip to BA.
Got 2 questions though:
First, are there any beaches in/around Buenos Aires?
Second, how safe is it walking around at night/during the day?
I'm booked at the Americas hotel and i've tendency to do that when i travel, check out the locals etc., but some places I've been gets dangerous [Kingston, Jamaica was a scary scene two years ago, Amsterdam was cool night or day, London was okay and Paris was great, but no action to be had besides some skanks.]
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hello BA board,
I just booked my first trip to BA purely for mongering purpose because I have been reading so many good things about this city. I have tons of questions preparing for this trip and I hope fellow BA experts can help. First are the logistic questions. I got a package deal with flight on United and 3 days stay at Wilton Hotel on Av Callao near Recoleta for $900. I considered booking a hotel or apartment through one of travel agents recommended on this board. But for some reason, if I book the airfare without hotel would have cost close to $1000. Package with flight and hotel actually is cheaper than plane ticket alone. Any comments on this hotel? Is it chica friendly? How is the location related to mongering activities?
It appears most people travel around the city in taxis. Is rental car really not recommended? What are the options to get from EZE to the hotels besides taxi? I read a taxi ride from the airport can cost about $35 USD, a round trip makes it $70 USD already. Is there any easy public transportation that will take me to the city and then taxi from there to the hotel? I usually like to rent a car when I travel including Prague, Naples, and Paris. Amsterdam is the only city I’ve been to that I feel rental car is really not necessary and desired. I know I can get a rental for about $35 USD per day, insurance, taxes and fee included. Are parking and traffic really that bad rental car is not practical?
My return flight leaves EZE in the evening. Are there any other options besides paying the hotel for another day or wander around the city during the day before heading to the airport in the evening? What I really need is just place to keep my luggage during the day and a place to take a shower before leaving for the airport.
What is average cost for a local SIM card with some pre-paid credit for my cell phone? What are the local service providers? In has been my experience in most cases if you make at least 10 phone calls, it is more economical in the long run to get a local SIM card rather than using the hotel phone.
Any help would be much appreciated. Once I got smart in this city, I will be more than happy to contribute back to the forum.

IMHO you would be insane to rent a car.
Taxis are cheap and plentiful.
The ride in from the airport in a private car should cost from 50 - 60 pesos. Not dollars. That is about 20 dollars. Taxis are somewhat cheaper.
Your hotel is worth 40-50 dollars per night, so your package is decent.
Most hotels in BA are chica-friendly.
Hope this helps.

Yes, "parking and traffic really that bad rental car is not practical?"
Email Ana to pick you up at EZE, and don't worry about a car - you WON'T need one, or even want one!
As for your late check out, you are welcome to come hang out at the mansion after you check out of your hotel. Ana will pick you up there in time to catch your flight.

Guys,
I'm from Houston, going to BA.
Is anybody going to be there same timeframe ? Would love to hook up.
I am looking into hotel info.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Sportsman,
I stayed at the Wilton a couple years ago. Decent place and location. Breakfast included, I think.
I booked it thru Mayri, who is often mentioned on this site. She said it would be chica friendly. I took one girl up and there was a little confusion at the front desk. The nite clerk said there would be a fee. When I checked out the next day, there was no fee.
I suggest at check-in that you clarify that you will have guests coming to your room.

Actually it's what I think of as "my" hotel. I have stayed there and several of my friends have as well several times over the last three years. Ask for one of the rooms on the 14th floor. You will have to walk up a flight of stairs because the elevator stops on the 13th but I love that view of the chicks ass going up the stairs. Only two of the rooms on the 14th, one in the front tower and one in the back, have large beds. The other two have two singles in them.
Generally the hotel is Chica friendly but there is a red headed old ***** that works the swing shift that will insist on seeing their ID's. How I have handled that is to tell her it's none of her fucking business who I take to my room and invite her to call the managment if there is a problem. The idea behind the girls showing ID is in case they rob you or steal from you. If you want them to register than fine, if not call for a manager or register them this time but then speak to the managment. The red headed ***** does it because she disaproves. As with all women in Argentina if you act like a whimp they will kill you but if you show resolve and not take their shit they settle down.
The two guys that work the night shift will get you some girls if you want but they get ugly girls. The price is ok but the girls are old.
All in all I really recomend the place, you can walk either to the recolleta clubs or walk a little further to the triangle. Excellent staff, great location, clean rooms though I wish they had safes in them.
Happy Hunting

I have been in 59 countries. Chasing pussy all my life. Some places have your lady guests register, some don't. In Rio some hotels the desk will call you when they leave to see if you are OK so they can give them back there iD. If they ask you to register her don't freak out, chill out, it is for your own good.
