I am planning a side trip for about 3 weeks from now. I could go to Paraguay, but.
I have heard many good things about Punta Del Este, aside from mongering. I was going to stay in one of the bigger hotels and hit the casino. I was thinking of a day in Montevideo also.
Should I pack a chica? Or can I get some there?

Mongers-
Punta del Este will be deader than dead this time of year. It will be significantly colder, windier and more unpleasant than Buenos Aires at this time due to its coastal location. In addition, nearly all bars and clubs and many restaurants will be shut down for the season. The Conrad Hotel and Casino, of course, will be open. They survive the winter by attracting large number of charter packages from various cities in southern Brasil (there is no legal gambling in Brasil, so the Brasilians come for the weekend to gamble). There will be essentially no for-rent pussy action available at this time of year.

Thanks Rock.
I think I am going to Paraguay again. I looked at the forecast and it was 90's and started considering over venues. Looks like it is a small heat wave.
Several years ago I went on a junket to the Conrad from BSAS. I paid a bargain price of $50 USD for round trip airfare, ride from airport to casino, dinner and breakfast. Flight left at 6pm and returned at 9am, if I remember correctly. They most likely have a similar type arrangement. Look at their website or call them.
What I found most interesting was that my carry on bag was not seached at the airport, nor did I need to produce a passport. This was the case both coming and going.
They never got enough people for a poker game, so I ate dinner and wandered around the rest of the night. It is quite dead this time of year but there are some discos and clubs open Fri-Sat-Sun. I was there midweek, so I cannot comment first hand.
The city has a fairly large population year round and there was lots of new highrise apartments under construction. Many of the locals vacate their apartments in Dec-Jan-Feb and rent their places out for big $$$$ for the 3 month season.
I would say that Punta del Este is worth a look, especially if you can go on a cut-rate junket. If you like what you see, you can always plan a longer trip at a later date.
