Probably been written up before but here it goes again:
"La Cholita".
1165 Rodriguez Pena (I can't find the Spanish "N") at Santa Fe. In front of the unmentionable Sports Bar.
Maybe 99% locals having lunch or dinner, mostly a steak house with some quesadillas and a few other things.
No Cubierto.
I had a 3 piece meat sampler:
Entrana, again no "N" . ( Skirt Steak )
Asado (Rib-meat with ribs).
Vacio (Flank Steak).
With fries and mashed Calabaza. (pumpkin).
$62.00 pesos out the door at night plus water.
I eat a lot and although I gave away the fries the meal is big enough for you and a female date. Maybe 600 grams of beef? Or more .
Less than $8 dollars, a nice , semi romantic atmosphere with candles and reasonable beers if you are a beer drinker.
I think a Lomo or Bife de Chorizo was $62.00 pesos? Hard to find a Lomo under 100p these days .
Beats the pants off of "Parrilla Pena" down the road but that's not hard to do these days. Parrilla P has ZERO atmosphere! This place is for the locals from the Recoleta neighborhood that live near by. Mostly younger girls and guys or families .
It is the Resto that is in the middle of three. The other Argie Resto next to it is owned by the same people and the Mexican Resto next to it should be AVOIDED!
