    Buy a freakin banner

People other than chicas that are advertising their business / service should buy a banner on the site and help alleviate costs for Jackson.

How did you guys end up in Argentina? By coincidence?

Is it difficult to move down there when it comes to immigration service, buying an apartment, opening a bank account, health insurance, etc?

It sounds like there is kind of male Yankee / European network in BsAs. Are there many guys like you down there? And is it mostly for (married?) men in their 40's / 50's?

Is there some place in Recoleta where you can buy the Wall Street Journal US edition?

Is Fox News available on Argentinian cable?
Just read this board and you will save a shitload!

When Jackson is intown fox news I'd on the TV when he is in the mansion. I personally do not watch or read any news other than the BA herald at breakfast. I don't give a fuck unless a nuclear device did its thing in Recoleta. It's called vacation. I'm not going to change my lifetime politiacal viewpoint over dinner either.

I believe you can get the Journal right in front of Alvear Palace. Let me take you back to EZE, I can answer all of your questions and have you in a nice and comfortable Executive car, same car as the French President! You can do better than those unprofessional and unsafe cabs. To reserve your executive ride, please see.

I came here the first time in January of 2002 for two reasons. 1 Fox News doesn't air here and 2 I saw in the WSJ that they recinded the law pegging the Peso to the Dollar. I knew the country was in crisis and it would be cheap as shit. When I got here my hotel was 35 pesos, a cafe con leche was 3. 50 at Florida Gardens, a pack of smokes was 1. 50, the entrance at Black was 20 I think, chicas would talk to you for 20 minutes and you had the whole deal worked out before you bought them a drink. The went for around 200 pesos, and their drink was 30-40.

If you have enough money you can do all of the things you asked about but I would avoid Argentine banks like Hong Kong clap whenever possible. As far as moving is concerned there are other forums along with this one that have a wealth of info on them.

No idea about the WSJ but as suggested I would get it online and sent to your iPad.

WSJ is at the kiosk near la Beila on quintiana. Finding Penelope Cruz is not going to happen. For you, for me yes but it took me many years to get to where I can do anything I want in BA

    WSJ for Chicago Guy

I am pretty sure that I've seen the WSJ available from kiosks on Florida (pedestrian mall "downtown". Which I am afraid is not very specific if you are new to BsAs). But if I recall correctly it was very expensive. I'm pretty sure it would be cheaper, and more convenient, to get an online subscription and bring a laptop with you. The laptop will be convenient for many purposes.

It's a sunk cost now, but yeah, I should have changed my dollars at the "unofficial" rate. I was just so afraid that I would get fake money due to the fact that I'm a gringo.

Thanks for the link. In my experience, many of the regular taxi drivers in BsAs are crazy.

Anyways, after a 10+hour flight I landed in EZE. I changed my 5000 dollares at the Airport at the official 4. 5 cambia. With hindsight, the worst FX transaction in my life.

Spent most of my pesos in Black. Usually I didn't have to pay for entrance at Black. But from there, it was like. 160 for a gin and tonic for myself. Then 40 pesos tip to the bartender. Talk to a chica. 300-400 for a drink. Negotiate price for 1 hour. 800-1000 pesos. Then one more drink at 300-400 pesos. Then a rude bartender saying "tip is not included".100 pesos to her. Then a private "Black" cab back to my place, again 100 pesos (my hotel was in Palermo SoHo, HUGE mistake). Each night at black for me (with one chica) was in the 1800-2200 pesos range.

I had an amazing time though and the girls in Argentina. What can I say? Super thin, feminine and sexy. And the whole Spanish. Italian look that most of them have, I love it. Might come back next year, but obviously I'll try to learn some Spanish before my next trip.

TL, sounds like you have been to Argentina many times? Can you offer any advice for a fellow gringo? How do I get more value for my hard-earned dollares?

    Ciao. Alex

I've lived here for 8 years and I am a professional tour guide.

A "Sexual Tour Guide " at night and a City Tour Guide during the day.

I could have saved you a lot of money and time.

Next time stay closer to Centro or Recoleta for starters, NEVER use the club's " Courtesy" cab and try some of the recommended chicas so you get what you pay for.

I have some new talent but ALL of my recommendations are still available.

    Thanks,

    TL.

PS. You should consider staying at Jax Butt Hut! Killer pad, great location, very affordable.
